Barkrider: We have about 6 acres...1/2 woods, 1/2 fields and apple trees. They are well  fed and on the grill they can't be beat. Well....maybe venison backstraps will give them a run. When the time comes there will be a DB blind up in the woods and a brush blind along the orchard somewhere where they tend to funnel in or out of. Seems a little harsh and unfair to shoot them in the front yard. Sometimes I can sit right on the front porch before they arrive and they will feed 5 yards from me. I just couldn't shoot one that way.

That is funny, we were scouting on the local navy base and saw the biggest turkeys either of us have ever seen, I mean they were huge ! Needless to say we will both be turkey hunting next season.

fassettor...I know the feeling. However, since taking one in the Fall of 2009 I have taken another last Fall and another this Spring. Hope the streak continues...and the  best advise I can offer is shoot straight. I always got shots but could not connect. Gotta shoot them just like deer...pick a spot not a turkey.

My thoughts and prayers will be out for your turkeys, it does not look like the future is looking too bright for a few of them. I wish I had a turkey fence.
