I almost thought I could. At this point, I am not even sure if I will be hunting this year due to some personal issues...
I wish you all the best of luck.

Hey Ken,
I just got a new grill and I would be glad to strap it into the pickup and bring it along with me.  Can't think of a better way to break it in than cookin' up in the hills!

Nate, I can toss together a few items and get lucky once in a while. But I always hate the idea of cooking while i am supposed to be hunting. Typically hunting camp is pre-made dishes that warm easily and quickly.

Tonight, remember that old Gobbler I killed on the hill?  I took his last breast cut it in half and pounded it flat, made a sausage/cranberry stuffing, spread over the top and rolled into a roast. I was afraid he meat would dry too much so I covered in bacon. Roast over low heat for 1.5 hours and then basted, covered with aluminum foil and back in for another 30 minutes.

The wife liked it so it must be edible.   :dunno:

Nate, how far can you stretch 2 handfuls of dried Morels? enough to accentuate a dish to feed 15 people?
Relax,

Look for these when you hunt. I found a bunch (hatful) last week, and they are prime.

Thanks for the reminder Kathy!  Fresh black trumpets (or anything else for that matter) would go great with dinner.  I spend way too much time looking down for mushrooms when I'm in the woods.  God help me if I find one or some........I might as well give up on focusing on game for the day!

Charlie - I may have something a bit better than dried morels.  I now freeze my mushroom stash.  As long as you are going to have them as an add-in to a dish, they work great....just dump them in frozen.  I vacuum seal, then freeze morels and maitakes (hen of the woods) every year.  If someone wants to try using some, let me know.....I'll bring a few packages.
