I ordered an Osprey longbow from Chad Holm at Denton Hill this year and it arrived Aug.31 and thought I would share some pic's of it. This is my first reflexed- deflexed longbow and what can I say I love it!! Chad did an outstanding job on it and he got it done in time for the NY season. It is 62" 55#-30". The limbs have Cocobolo verniers and the Lazy S riser is a combo of Bocote and Cocobolo. I shoot with a straight wrist so Chad traced my Blackwidow PSA handle and added to my riser,( he got it perfect)fits perfect in my hand. When discussing my vernier choices Chad said follow me and we will look at some. He took me into one of the big tents to a vender that sold nothing but exotic verniers. Man my head was spinning with all the choices but I went with my original choice and Chad split a set with me. I started to bareshaft tune arrows this morning and my Osprey called in a four pointer! He must of got curious to the sound of me shooting into the block target and was standing there looking at me about 30yrd in my back field. I am taking that as a good sign that this is going to be a good bow season for me.
I also purchased my first strap on quiver from Don of Eagle's Flight Archery at the show for my Osprey. Don gave me a deal on it and it works great. Straps on nice and sturdy. Great quiver's!
Also a little tid bit that Chad shared with me was that he made another longbow out of the exact same riser woods he used in my bow to send into Blacky Swartz to be reviewed and pictured in Traditionalbow Hunter Magazine later this year. I thought that was pretty cool!
I would like to thank Chad again for the excellent job he did!! Thanks for looking.
