According to the catalog it comes with a BCY Flemish String and I have no idea what that means. Can someone please educate me
BCY is the company that makes the string material. There are two major bowstring material companies in the U.S.--BCY and Brownell. Flemish is the way the string is constructed--it's made with individual strands twisted and counter-twisted to make the loops. There are two basic ways to construct a bowstring--flemish and endless or continuous loop, where the loops are formed by separating the strands and serving them.
Unless it's changed, Martin uses a material called Helix, which is made exclusively for them by BCY. It's similar to 450+ string material (also made by BCY), if memory serves me right.
