New Snakebit Photos
« on: September 11, 2011, 11:45:00 AM »
I ordered this bow on May 12, 2010.  It arrived yesterday, September 10th. I was in a tree bowhunting when my wife picked up the bow at the USPS.

The bow is LH, 60", 47.6#@26". The limbs are Snakebit and Myrtle. The riser is Snakebit and Macassar. Norm did a terrific job selecting the woods, making it the draw weight I wanted, and of course his famous workmanship. The fit and finish is amazing.

I just realized the compass I wanted below the grip didn't get installed. I reckon elk season and making 12 bows at once....? I'm sure Norm will make this right when he and I talk about in a couple weeks.

The bow came with a couple whiskers and a brass locator set at 5/8". I replaced the brass with tied on locators. I paper-tuned the bow as he sent it at 6', 10', and 21' -- bullet holes! I was surprised I didnt have to at least adjust the locator down an 1/8".

I deleted three photos that are likley too large. I pasted smaller version in the next post below.

Here are a couple pictures.

Wow! If you gotta wait a year - thats the bow to wait for!

I got a Blacktail myself from Norm about 7 years ago- and had a year wait then.

Norm is a great guy and a true craftsman.

Congratulations on your bow!

Beautiful!  A fabulous bow in every way.

I'm on the list for a Snakebit too.  That's the first one I've seen with Macassar ebony, makes a nice combo.  I've been having a hard enough time deciding between Myrtle and Lacewood limb veneers.  Now I have to consider Macasser instead of black ebony in the riser.

I'm a fan of Macassar because I like the brown streaking in highly figured Maccassar.

The pictures I posted above could be too large. In case they are and must be deleted, I've pasted smaller versions of three below:
