Let me introduce you to Russell.
I met Russ as the result of placing a post on FB and Russ's wife replied telling me her husband had a few old school bows that he enjoyed shooting.
I made a phone call or two and set a time to drive over and meet Russ. I felt as if I had known Russ for years after about 15 minutes of conversation.
I had brought over a few bows and Russ has more bows than I do and some of them are just "way cool!"
One in particular really had my eye caught, it was a very old elb with whale baleen backing and what I believe is ivory tipped nocks.
Russ told me he'd never strung the bow and never would, it was just too old and pretty to take any chances with.
Today after Russ got off of work(night shift at the VA, works with Tom:non-typical ) he came by with a couple of nice recurves.
We shot for a couple of hours then dug some Japanese bamboo risomes so he could start some natural arrow shafts of his own.
One thing that is a must for 1st time shooters at my place is shooting "out of the bucket".
You can see that Russ has some good form in his shooting whether he's got his recurve or a long bow in his hand.
God bless,Mudd
PS: I am fairly certain that Russ will be joining the tradgang family in the very near future.
