Schafer Silvertip - Greg Dearth
« on: September 12, 2011, 08:33:00 PM »
Going to be bragging about a Schafer Silvertip here so be forewarned.
Greg Dearth, God bless him sold me a Schafer Silvertip previously owned, which I received this evening. Take down. Put it together and put the brace height at recommendation. Went out to my empty acreage next door.
Bow pulled like cake (no I was not excited).
My previous bow was 56@28 this is 62@28 and pulls easier. I shot both bows and had 7/8 inch more penetration into my Rhinehart with the Schafer Silvertip.
First 3 arrows from 20 yards missed the bullseye by 2 "    .
My brother in law says lets move back. I go to 25 yards and bullseye  :archer:
Next arrow again 2" also at 25 yards.
I quit then and went into the house.
Schafer Silvertip MOJO....Bring it.
Thank you again Greg Dearth

Congrats on the Schafer! Don't let go of it. I love lots of different bows, even own a couple different styles. But I don't think I've shot a bow yet that fits me better than the Silvertips.

Bunch of knockout recurves out there. None prettier than Schafers. Shooters too. Paul saw to that. Good for you.

I'm thinking about selling what few bows I have and just keeping the Schafer. Well I'll keep my Tembo too so I'll have a longbow. I don't shoot or need anything else. Its my go to bow for sure. Congrats! Oh and PICS PLEASE!!     :bigsmyl:

shot about everything out there.  ST are the bow for me.  Some faster some fancier, none that I think are more stable and just a dead solid hunting bow.  The grip is steady from 90 degrees and 90% humidity to heavy gloves with snow blowing in your face on a tree stand.  They shoot heavy grizzly stik arrows down to easton small diameter axis well.  My bow is 56lb at 28in 62 inch FF recurve.  It has delievered arrows from deer to turkey to hogs to possums to bumble bees.  cant go wrong with a ST and the Windauers are top knotch folks to deal with also.

One of you Schafer brothers had emailed me or elsewhere to go up on the spine. So I put a 70-75 on it the first evening. Brother-in law visiting from Michigan said "they are like darts".
He meant to say straighter than an arrow out of a Schafer Silvertip.
Going to add the Schafer silvertip lingo to the bottom of all my posts as well.
I think you can tell I am in love with this bow
