I had hoped to have this one done by this coming weekend, so I could enter it in a Woodcarving show.  Doesn't look like it is going to happen.  I still have alot of work to do on the moose fur and antlers, fine tuning Biggie's ugly mug, and the leaves in the top left.

Man!

I went back and forth between the first pic and the last and I gotta say, this one is pretty amazing.  I can see little differences but most of those are due to the challenges of shading in black and white vs. in color.

Chip, I'm gonna send you a pm with a pic of my sons first buck he got this year to see what you think.  I probably can't afford it but I won't know unless I ask eh?

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.

Always look more like airbrush art than wood carving to me!

You know how amazing I think your work is, Chip!

God-given talent!

update...
Sorry, Biggie, this piece is taking far longer than I thought it would...not just because of the detail involved, but because of life just getting in the way of my time to work on it.  But I am making progress.

It appears to be getting close, but it is far from done!

No sweat! Take some time off and enjoy the holidays with your family. As long as it's here by next Monday.

Good thing you did not specify which "next Monday". Chip is a stickler for details and i can tell everyone it is worth the wait.

Happy Holidays to both Biggie and Chip.

Happy Holidays to you, Les! And everyone else! Really miss having contact with you and Pete!

Biggie,
Besides work and family, I had to get some hunting in during the rut and before rifle season.  3 years ago when I started taking orders it was right at the start of hunting season and I didn't do much hunting that year because I was at home burning.  Promised myself that that wouldn't happen again and since they have almost all been hunters I think most of my clients would understand, including you, LOL!

Now I am gonna have to get out there after rifle season to see if "Bubba" made it past the orange army.  That will be closer to Christmas though.   Hopefully, I should be done before then.

Unbelievable!!

Mostly because you found a chunk of wood big enough for Biggie and a moose. Sequoia?

I'd love to see the finished picture.
