5" Duravanes
« on: September 14, 2011, 05:54:00 PM »
Does anyone shoot 5", or any other size, duravanes on the arrows?

Was thinking of fletching some arrows up with them to see what happens.

I never have shot vanes but from what i have read and seen is that some can get their bow tuned to shoot them with no problem and some cant. If you do happen to shoot with an elavated rest you should have no problem.

Give it a try and report back.

I tried everything to get them to shoot off the shelf with no luck.

Ron...I sold AAE vanes and used them for the arrows I made up for Compound customers. I may have some 5" laying around...if you want them....you can HAVE THEM. Just shoot me a PM with your address....Joe

I'm fairly certain that you'll need an elevated rest to get vanes to shoot well. Most likely poor flight is resulting from the vane striking the shelf.

Ive used them off a bear weather rest on several bows.If tuned correctly they fly good.
If your overspined or underspined you'll have problems.

I shoot vanes off an elevated rest, they sure work good in the rain.
