I feel like I'm  milking this, but I want to be a part of this thread too.

I shot this doe on 10/16/11

My set up was:

60” Morrison, Dakota 56# at 29”

30.5” Carbon Express, Heritage 250 arrow with a 125 grain Woodsman broadhead and three 5” shield cut feathers

Total arrow weight 650 grains.

The shot was a slightly quartering away 10 - 12 yd shot. The arrow entered high on the left side and exited behind the elbow on the right side. Right where I was expecting.

The shot was a complete pass through and the arrow cut through both lungs. I'm not sure how long it took her to hit the ground, but if she was on her feet for 7 seconds I would be surprised. She went down quick!

Get out there and hunt and good luck to you!

Wanted to get out this morning badly.

However, I chose to stay home, watch my boy so that my wife could get a little extra sleep, and cooked them both breakfast.

Also got some things around the house done.

But this morning seemed like the absolute PERFECT morning to get out there. I hope that it wasn't and I didn't miss much. ;-p

Will be out there on Wednesday morning and afternoon. Also planning a trip back up to Northern Missouri for November 5 and 6.

Give us some updates boys.

Kenny, the first week of November is my absolute favorite time to hunt all year. Every year it seems like everything goes ape &%*^ about November 4th through the 8th.

Anyone having any luck?  I haven't been able to hunt the past few days, so no stories to tell for me.     :archer:

Several of my patients have been reporting that the scrapes are finally showing up.  I haven't seen many at all this year so I was wondering when they would start appearing. Hopefully this front that is moving through will help.

Was out again this morning.

Did not see a thing.

My neck of the woods has been unusually slow activity this year.

So about 10:30 a.m. I hopped on the 4 wheeler and scouted the property out, (Rarely do this, but find it a less invasive way to 'speed scout'.)

Not a single rub or scrape.

Wierd.

For the past 5 years I couldn't hunt thi property without seeing at least a handful of deer per sit.

I'm finally going to make it back out this weekend.  I've been a little off my feet due to a upper respiratory infection but I'm feeling much better now and the weather is finally getting cooler.  I can't wait, TRW.

Just drove home from work, work nights. I saw the first real good buck of this season crossing the highway on my way home!  So things might start to pick up? The trail cam has been getting some bucks at 4 to 6 am instead of 12 to 2, so maybe they'll be out in daylight hour more soon? I'll be huntin harder this weekend, I know that!
Goodnight, if I can get up in a few I might make it out in the am?

MO sure has some good deer in it.  I hunted there for about 6 years in a row.  I missed last year and will miss this year, but I sure like hunting there.  I have several sets of horns I drug back from your neck of the woods.  They range from 101" 8pt to a 156" 11pt.

The best deer i ever saw was in MO.  It was a 14 pt.  I run up on it on the way to hunt.  It stood in the road for about 2 or 3 minutes showing off its head gear.  Truely a stud!!

Good luck to yall guys!

God Bless,
Nathan

Just back from two weeks in SW MO. Saw several nice bucks, at least one P&Y, passed on several marginal shots and killed a button on the last day. Didn't see the buttons, but I would probably have shot him anyhow for meat. LOTS of young bucks in the area- one of my buddies had 10 under him at once, all spikes and forkies. Next couple of years should be great!
