Was out Thursday morning.  Mismanaged my time just a bit and didn't get to my blind till light, I like to get in before.
Only was able to give it a couple of hours due to Thanksgiving familly stuff.  Saw some turkeys across the drainage 100 yards or so away.  Contemplated a stalk but the woods are pretty bare now and knew those quys would never let me get close.  They never do!
Did notice some fresh rubs in the area of my blind though.  Getting back out Sunday and see what happens, will have more time then.

Congrats to everyones success on this thread, Eric

Got caught siting down this morning when a doe snuck in to about 20 yds before I ever saw/heard her. She was on my left and I couldn't get a shot at her without standing and with nothing between me and her it didn't happen.

i jumped a small buck(6-7 point)about 25 yds from where i was building a ground blind this morn. then after that i had a little doe sneak in on me about 20 yds. over my left shoulder and went behind me,  but i got cold ( all sweaty ) from walking about 2 miles in to my spot, then the temp droped off with rain drips freezing on tree limbs...

It's Sunday and now dark, gun season is completely over save for muzzleloaders and a very late youth season, it's time!   :jumper:    :archer2:

Do the deer usually settle back down some by mid to late December?

yes they do some ,but depends on how much they have been disturbed, like every day or every weekend, so it depends on where youll be hunting, private land with less pressure is best.but im hunting public land and im struggling to put some tags on something,anything...a rabbit will do rite now, HA!!           il geter done...

Well if close counted I would be eating deer all winter. Had today off and got a little snow this morning. I had a group of 5 headed right towards me at about 30 yds until one of the does must have smelled where I walked in and took the group with her in the other direction.

Arrow30, I am lucky enough to hunt on my in-laws property out there. Father and mother in law own 16 acres and grandparents in law own 286 acres. Non of them really hunted hard during the gun season and I don't think they got anything but the 500 acres of hardwoods that border their property are leased out to some guys who hunt it hard. Luckily along the creek and the neighboring property on that side the guy doesn't let anyone hunt so they go there to get away. Hopefully it turns out good. 16 more days! Can't wait either way! Good luck to everyone!

Anybody out there? Any still huntin?

I had 9 within 20 yds tonite but couldn't make it happen.

Doe with 2 fawns first then 2 bucks.

Was on the ground and almost moved a little so I could shoot there, cause I figured if more came they would be on same trail.

20 minutes later 4 more in same spot behind me.  :banghead:

Why they didn't wind me I still don't know!

I am still out there.  Killed a doe 12/18 in Taney County.  All I need is a January deer and that will be one each month of season.  Good Luck to all who are still at it.

Well I saw three bobcats while muzzeloader hunting on Friday evening so I switched back over to the bow and had two spikes walk by me this morning they were a little far out and my arrow went under the rear one. I will try to get back out tonight and see if I can catch them on the way out.

Finally made it out here (McDonald County)!! Got out yesteday morning and sat in the ground blind with thethe wife before it started to get light. Think we spooked a deer on the way. Just as it was getting light enough to see.....the sport shoooting enthusiast decided to start shooting his rifle at something on the next property, though I am not sure what. We stopped counting after forty shots.  Went back to the house and hung out with family. That evening went to back out with wife and father in law but didn't see any deer. Celebrated the birth of our savior today and hung out with family, no hunting. Get back after it tomorrw with hopefully better results! Merry Christmas!

We were close then, I was in Kirbyville which is just east of Branson 5 miles or so.  Planning on heading back tomorrow.
