Don't know if anyone is still reading these posts. Been out hunting for two days on my grandparent inlaws property. Finally saw four does on the neighbors property this evening as me, my wife and three year old son headed out for a evening hunt. Other than that, haven't seen anything deer wise! Last year the 500 acres of hardwoods next door was being leased out by a guy who was setting stands and bringing "hunters" in to sit in stands that he had placed and was putting out loads of corn (which is illeagal) to hunt over. They reported 29 deer taken in the 10 day rifle season. Those are only the ones reported or found. Grandpas good neighbor saw the baits fromhis property and turned the owner in but he was only given a slap on the wrist. End result, VERY few deer around. Hopefully will get lucky in the next few days before I head back to Colorado. Will be going back out to parent inlaws place and try out there again.

NEW SNOW? We missed it again!!
Last nite saw a broken horned buck at 60 yds and 11 gobblers that almost made it in range, that many eyes woulda been hard to beat anyways.
Glad to see the turkeys coming back a little in N MO, we were about out of em a couple years ago.

Getting ready to head out for the afternoon. Looks like a front is heading our way. Maybe that will get them moving.

Great pics Bryant. Well like I said today was my last shot at it this season.
I started off in one of my blinds before light. Shortly after the sun came up I heard some turkeys calling a little bit across the creek bottom.
After a while with no action I decided to do a little still-hunting like I did Thursday and maybe cut the tracks of those turkeys I had heard earlier.
Moving along a ridge through some cedars I saw two does about 75 yards away feeding towards me.
When I saw them I was caught kinda in the open in a stream of sunlight. Tried to get to cover and they busted me and took off to the creek bottom.
Found the tracks of those turkeys and slowly followed them but they ended up going across the property line and had to break off.
Not quite the way I wanted my last day to go but it sure beat the heck out of layin on the couch.
Now the wait for turkey season to start this April.
Good luck to everyone tomorrow. Eric

Giving it one last crack tomorrow morning.
I have taken 2 bucks this year so far, but I wasn't using Trad gear.

Well, I took one last swing at it. Saw nothing. Took pictures from the stand for fun, I'm putting those in a different thread so as not to clog this up.
Glad I went anyway, it was a tough year for me, a lot of action and excitement, only one shot, a heartbreaker. As I always tell my kids, that's why they call it hunting and not shooting!
