For many years it was the 125gr 4bl head and the 115gr 4bl head before that, but have killed quite a few with the 125gr 4bl Phantom as well.  Just had to change over to 100gr tips after a string change and speed increase on my bow and shooting the 100gr 4bl Phantom and standard Muzzy 100gr 4bl head.  Took a bear last weekend with the Phantom and down and out in 8 secs falling DRT out of the tree.  I do sharpen the trocar tip when I use the Muzzy heads and never had any problems with many deer, hogs, elk, bear, etc.
They'll be no quitters till we bag us some critters!

Since I'm going with a light arrow setup this year, I needed a 75 grain broadhead. The broadhead I've chosen is a standard 3 blade Muzzy 75 grain screw-in which is only one inch wide.

I've had great results with the standard trocar tip Muzzy and with the Phantoms.  This year I'm experimenting with a two blade, so I'm using the 200gr Phantoms.

i havn't ever shot an animal with the "regulad" 125g muzzy 3b but i put one on yesterday to see how the would fly out of my bow. they flew great as expected.  that head was as dull as it could get and i wondered if i could bring the blades back to life with a file.... with 4 or 5 very lite strokes on bothe sides of the blades they were poping hair again. granted it was an odd angle to get the file btween the blades but it can be done.

i have no doubt they they will do their part if you do yours.  i think i read a thread where RC has killed a bunch of critters with this BH....

I just did a few tests and this is what I came up with:)
This one is through 1/2" particle board.

After about 10 shots in the board I decided to shoot it into the poured concrete walls in the basement:)

This last one is what the tip looked like after I removed it from the wall.  Some of the slant in the tip probable came from when trying to remove it.

Thanks!

Anw0625 - That's impressive.  Can you do the same test with the 3 blade trocar tip? I could but I can't post pictures of the results.?

I killed one of my Biggest pigs with a Muzzy 3 blade 125 grains. I think I was shooting around 55@27. I`ve killed a lot of deer and hogs with them as well as a few with the phantom. Maybe or maybe not but it has been my experience the 3 blade 125 penetrated better than the phantom on these medium size critters I hunt. Fine broadheads made by good folks.RC

Blaino you can't really see it but in the first pic at the bottom there is a 4 blade muzzy.  It punched a bigger hole which was to be expected but had more restriction from the 4 blades.  It would not stick in the concrete walls but only tried once so the wife would not ask questions:).  I don't think it would have much restriction going through a animal or living bone.  I personally like the 4 blades better b/c the body can not self close a "X" pattern like it can a straight one.  I hope that made sense.  Thanks!

That makes perfect sense.  I have been thinking about getting a pack of the 145g 4blade with the trocar tip and seeing what kind of blood it puts on the ground....  I like to tinker/experiment.

Blaino,
145gr standard four blade.

I dug up an old pic.  "Good blood"?    ;)   There's more behind my right shoulder too.

Great day! I'd say it puts blood on the ground.  It could also be the perfect shot.  Thanks for the pic and nice shootin'.
