Wood Arrow Flex?
« on: September 18, 2011, 09:13:00 AM »
Some buddies and I were shooting 3D yesterday. One buddy who shoots woods, I notice when he drew back his arrow would flex downward in the middle about 1/8". He shoots split so I thought he maybe torquing the string or arrow so he tried 3 under with the same results. Then I tried it using my bow and his split and 3 under with still flex. Is this normal?    :knothead:

Bow poungage to arrow spine is probably off considerably. Are the limbs on the bow equal at full draw?

Odd.  There should be no flex on the arrow.

He's shooting a red oak bow he built and the tiller looks pretty good. The limbs look even at full draw. If any thing the arrows maybe to stiff.

Normally seeing a flex like that means the shooter is putting pressure on the arrow with his top finger when shooting split. I don't know how it could still do it 3 under but I would try the double nock.
