Sparrowhawk attacks pig, wins.

A pretty nice way to wind up the weekend..
I went to the woods again this evening. We had a shower and I was hoping the pigs would be out prowling. This time I wasn't disappointed. The drought has these local pigs hungry it appears.
At any rate, this one caught a 2018 with a 160 Stos up front. She was maybe 15 yards. Took the shot right at last light and since everything was wet it made for a difficult tracking job. She only went about 80 yards but 70 of it was in a briar thicket. I was bent over the whole time; thorny vines made progress pretty slow. I knew where the arrow hit and was sure I'd find her even with the difficult trail..

Very cool. I know they're a nuisance animal but I sometimes wish we had a huntable hog population here. Conservation Dept. says we've got them but they are sure hard to find. TRW

The bow is 66" and 45 @ 28. I draw just shy of 30".
When my freezer gets full there's lots of folks that want some pork!
Pigs are fun, but they sure can be a pain come deer season, they don't co-mingle well at all.. They also compete for available forage and mast crops. Plus they can destroy the country side with their rooting. And they are as prolific as rats. But they sure are fun to hunt !
Good hunting fellas..
