What do you think of making them from stainles steal spoons ?

I don't see why it wouldn't work. Heat it to red and flatten. Then grind to shape and file to finish.

Kind of soft material, but it'll work. I hammered mine flat and then shaped using a file......Art

There are so many company's around that have scrap sheet metel. Most will give you some if you ask and tell them what your doing.
