If I am planning to be in my stand all day I take something to read. I used to take a book but this year I have a nook color. Have only taken it with me once but I like it much better than a book. Quieter, less movement. Currently reading "Hunting with Bow and Arrow" for Kindle. I hacked my nook so I could install other reader software so I can actually run the Kindle software on my nook and "Hunting with Bow and Arrow was a freebie from Amazon! I like free!

I do, and I have a an electronic card game.  Only problem is, as I am getting older, my eyes will focus on reading distance,  then not change to deer distance for a LONG time.  That is a problem.

I didn't have much luck reading the news paper while on stand. Deer must be able smell the ink they use.  :D

Never, I can read when I'm not hunting. I'm constantly listening and watching. Woods are full of entertainment. Might miss something.

It's always important that I have some sort of paper with me when I'm in the woods.  I either read it or,....use if for other stuff.

Yep I take a book, bottle of water and some food.
Currently reading China Marine, only problem is I forget to look for the deer and often there right in front of me by the time I realize.
But hey just being out there is the best part of hunting.

I just sit there cursing at all of the squirrels making noise and making me look them when they get crazy and make a lot of rustling noises.

I have thought about taking an MP3 player though and listening to podcasts and just hunt with my sight. haven't done it yet though.

I am easily amused and never get bored in the woods. the birds and small critters are all the entertainment I need. Once, while hunting the edge of a cornfield I spent several hours watching a hawk hunt mice from a nearby fencepost. Squirells can be annoying at times but if I sit dead dog still and dead dog quiet they soon forget im there. I also use time on the stand to talk to God. Its alot easier with no phones, TV or other noise to ditract.

If I wanted to read in the woods, I would do it in the summer.

I read alot on stand. My wife bought me a bible that has a camo cover. I also take my Kindle with me. It's a nice gray color so it blends in nicely.

I tend to hunt almost as much with my ears as I do my eyes. But I'll tell you, there has been a time or two where I've glanced up and had deer coming in on me.......I love the OH-NO feeling! When that happens I sit back and enjoy the deer being around and if I can move to get my bow that's great, if not, I just enjoy watching!

I go to the woods to hunt. I go to the library to read.

I've had several squirrel step children over the yrs. and have picked up a few words in squirrel.  So when things get real slow I can always amuse myself with the locals...if they are sociable. Some groups just don't want to be amused or anybody in their neiborhood and don't mind letting you know about.

I do often, at the end of each page I'll stop and look every where then turn the page.  Shot a 5X5 bull elk while reading "Silence of the lambs" one big scary bugga.

Reader here too.  Read a page, scan, read a page, scan.  I put the book away during prime time though.
