Take a look at the video of Billy's hunt.
After years of practice and study Billy Jr. passed Connecticut's bowhunting safety course on April 3rd of this year at 11 1/2 years old. On August 27th he turned 12 and was eligible to purchase deer and turkey tags with his bowhunting certificate. On Saturday, September 24th, at 5:00 PM, Billy climbed into a tree stand to hunt whitetails for the first time. One hour later, he sent his very first arrow at a big game animal from a tree stand and made a perfect shot. I'm sure Billy will look back at this hunt someday and see it as "one" of his bowhunting career highlights. None of us will ever forget our first animal. I was there, over his shoulder, with the camera rolling, of course. And for me, this is "the" hunting highlight of my life. I finally realized life coming full circle.
We have been very busy this past week, with 4 kids playing on 6 different soccer teams. So this is the first time I've had to post some pics and tell a brief account of the hunt. Billy's gone to bed now but I hope tomorrow he can come on and tell the story of his hunt...
