Thanks to all for the positive comments.  Will chime in more when I have a little more time and actually have a computer and not a phone to bang on.

I wanna see the tat.

Fantastic!
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Congrats and thanks for sharing. I might be mistaken but I'll bet that the Gator knife sheath was made by Larry  especially for that knife. Truly a family affair.    :clapper:

You asked for it Killdeer!  I know tattoo's aren't for everyone so if you don't approve that's okay with me.  I approve and Gramps makes me show it to everyone and that's good enough for me!  Like I stated earlier the Model 1886 is the only early model Winchester that Grandpa doesn't have in his collection and now I've got one for the both of us!  As far as the Traditional arrow and eagle feathers let's just say that I'm not an overly religious man in the traditional sense, but for a cross on my body I wanted it to represent family and my choice of tradional archery hunting.

Good luck to everyone and thanks again for all the comments.  Knowing that the incredible list of folks that have carried this knife now includes the maker (Doc Tippit) humbles me even more and adds to my honor in carrying it in the field!

Man Kenny you must have some pretty fires!!!

It really is special country that I am fortunate enough to hunt.  Not to mention that I get to spend a week with my Dad and best friend while I'm at it.

Goodness, you ARE a red neck! Unique ink, and very nicely done. But a heavy cartridge with a crescent butt... I sure would rather shoot a bow!

Thanks again for the telling and the pics.
Life is good!

Travis,

I've been hunting in South Carolina for the past week and just got the opportunity to come on Trad Gang.  On my way to Kansas with Ray Hammond and a great group of folks that we will meet up with tomorrow for a week long hunt.

But thank you for the great thread and the honors that have been bestowed on my son!  I'm certain now that he is smiling down.

Thank you, sir and to all of you TGers!
