Garage sale find
« on: September 30, 2011, 05:05:00 PM »
After years of reading about other guys stiking gold at yard sales I finally found my own bargain. A Bear Kodiak Magnum 52" 45#. Limbs are straight, tips look great only a few minor dings in the finish. I am thinking it might be 70s vintage because there are no quiver/sight bushings and the decal says Bear Archery Grayling MI. I paid $25 for it the guy tried to talk me into taking an old wheelie bow he had there. He said it wasnt as old faishioned as that old one I was holding. I thanked him for his opinion but said I would stick with the old fashioned one anyway. I cant wait to get it in the woods

God Bless

Buck

2nd Lt. George Rice: Looks like you guys are going to be surrounded.
Richard Winters: We're paratroopers, Lieutenant. We're
supposed to be surrounded.

Congratulations on your find.

I think my buddy Butch just scored on one for $40.

I hope he sends me pictures soon.

I never see any bows at garage sales. i know a fellow that has bought dozen of recurves for very little money at garage sales. he traveled all over the the place for years to collect them all.  he only hunted with a compound and never shot any of them. When he figured the cost of the gas, time away from work and what he sold them for, he figured that he almost paid new  prices for them.
