snakeskin backing
« on: January 13, 2007, 08:44:00 PM »
Thinking about having another set of limbs made for my Morrison T/D recurve, Does adding the skins to the back effect performance of the limb? If so how much loss in fps can be expected? Seems increased mass would slow it a bit. I really like the look but do not want to give up to much. Thanks

I doubt you'll notice a difference at all. Skins are paper thin so they don't effect it much.

Thanks Jason, I also have e-mailed Bob Morrison with the same question. I did not think it would hurt much.

Do it!  NO CHANGE in performance at all.  I have done Chronograph tests and bow speed remains constant.  One problem...don't lay bow down on the ground in snake country.  You many end up picking up the wrong thing!!!!

Update, Bob Morrison e-mailed me back, he also feels it does not hurt performance, and has tested for it. Thanks to all.

I'm drooling on my keyboard, Bob has an order comming. I would like to say that his response time and helpfullness has been outstanding to my barrage of e-mails, can not wait to talk to him in person to place the order.
