Kentucky elk

Just had a patient come in with some KY elk photos. He went on camping elk viewing trip at Jennie Wily(sp?) park about two weeks ago. I live on KY - OH border and have applied for tags unsuccessfully last couple years. Would love to hear some stories of trad hunts for them. Wild to be looking at photos of terrain that looks like places I hunt in southern Ohio with huge bull elk in them. Almost seem out of place guess they are just back where they once were. Would love to hear of trad experiences with them regardless of whether they end with a dead elk or not.

I don't have any stories of hunts..but do visit the area some.
I did notice you can buy an out of bounds tag, if the elk are out of their boundary you may harvest one.
Noticed this in the regs about 2 years ago. The KY herd is doing great!
