I helped Terry move a couple stands midday and he sure found some good spots with some major buck sign. I couldn't believe it but I forgot my camera, Sorry  :biglaugh:  I had to laugh at my luck. Not 30 minutes after they left another buck walked up and started feeding on them too.

I could see he was legal with 4pts on one side and looked good to me. He was taking his sweet time then started my way slowly feeding on the acorns but I was running out of daylight fast. He didn't make it to me on time but did walk to within 8yds and let me take several picks with my camera flash.

He finaly moved off toward the pond and I got the heck out of there.

You really haven't hunted the old fashion way until you've done it from one of these Indian houses.(The Tipi) "Glenn ST. Charles"

The next morning I went in early and moved the stand in the dark to another ceder. I really liked this spot and hoped all the deer I had been seeing would show back up. Here's the view I had and you can see some of the Iron wood and hickory leaves on the ground plus the dry creek bed the been using alot.

It was still dark and I could hear a deer up the hill eating acorns and at daylight I could see it was a doe. It took her a long time to feed my way and I had her in shooting range but could not get a arrow through all the brush.

She finaly fed back up the hill and out of my life because that was all I would see for the rest of the trip. I only had one more evening to hunt and they started cutting the beans that afternoon, I had Combines and grain trucks all around me and no deer for the first time.   :)

I sure hope everything went ok today Terry.

The cabin was great except for the nonstop falling of acorns from the monster tree. I think everybody got hit a few times  :D

We did some shooting in the yard at Pepsi bottles and tennis balls. Tom's a awesome shot!!

Bens a great shot too!

Charlie is in Weston, Missouri right now putting another hunt in the books. It might be a while before he response or gets into his story telling.

He had a close call last night but things didn't pan out, so stay tuned.  :campfire:

In the end, it is not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years. Abraham Lincoln.

Charlie Lamb

Hey Joe! I resemble that!!   ;)

As a matter of fact that button snagged the string real good during practice yesterday. Threw the arrow way left!
I suspect it is more involved in the process than I'd like to think.
While shooting with the boys on this hunt I was missing way too many shots left and right. I'd just forgotten about it.

I usually have something over my bibs when hunting (I hunt in camo bibs)so it's not an issue.

I'll get on with my end of the story later this morning after I catch up around home. I hate procrastination so I'll get the chores and "honey do's" done first.

You know? The ones I put off before the hunt.
  :D

I'm also going to need help with photos since my camera shot craps at the beginning of this hunt.

Tracy? Terry?  :help:
