I am shooting a gamemaster 2 48#@28" and i draw just a hair over 28". I am currently shooting some carbon arrows that are well over spined for this bow. they are 5575 carbon arrows 31" long with 125g points. While i was trying to quiet the gamemaster down, everyone has told me that i need a weaker spined arrow. i have decided on aluminum since it has alot of ways to adjust spine. which aluminum arrow do i need to get? length, spine? I have already bought my broadheads which are 125g so I cannot change that this close to opening day. thanks for any help.

I think I would try a 2016 cut to 31" and go from there. You can cut it down a little at a time and add or take away point weight as needed. You already have your heads, so if you need to add weight you can use PDP inserts and add weight to the insert.

Agree with Dave. My longbow is close to your recurve and I shoot 2016 30" with 150 gr points

I agree with Dave also, a 2016 should work great for you. However what works for one does not work for everyone.I'm shooting a 47@28" Bob Lee Recurve and I have a 29" draw and the 2016's shoot weak for me.I finally found that the 2117's cut to 30 1/2" with 125gr points fly and tune the best for me.

If you can get a few differant sizes and bareshaft to find out what works best for you.I know it is expensive and takes time, but when you watch a arrow that flies true with no wobble it's a thing of beauty.

Best of Luck

You could try some brass inserts in the carbons too.  Put another 100grs up front and that should weaken the spine enough for ya.

Anybody have one or two 2016's they want to get rid of or sell? I have been loking but noone around here sells them.

Thebear_78

The xx75 gamegetters 500 are also 2016s.   You should be able to find them easy enough.  3 rivers even sells test shaft kits that you can get and bare shaft then get what shoots the best.  I'm sure if you went down the list of sponsors you will find some easy enough.

I've ordered my 2016 (Easton 500 Gamegetters) from Bowhunter Supply (or Bowhunter Superstore, can't remember which?) at a fairly decent price.

I shoot a thunderbird thats 48@28 and I shoot 1916's with a 200gr point,,, sounds light but they bareshaft tune perfect!  I'd say with yours you can go with the 2016's for a decent mass weight or lighten it with 2114's but depends on what you like.

Pm me if you don't find any forsale but Ed's correct where you can get them there,,, also if you plan on shooting any of those fat hogs down in Alabama I'd try some 2018's with 250-300 grain points to have a heavier arrow...

are you near Lilian, Alabama by the way?
