Recommendations for pop up blind bow?
« on: October 07, 2011, 11:18:00 PM »
I'm looking for a longbow that is short enough to allow use out of a pop up blind.  Any recommendations?
I'm relatively new (4 years) to the longbow.  The only two I have both measure at 64" so looking for something considerably shorter, but is fairly easy for a "newb" to shoot.

Thanks
Ken

I had a Kohannah Fury that was 60" that was a smooth shooter for a relatively short longbow...
I'm sure others will chime in with some even shorter that are smooth as well.

I just traded for a 56" Hill Country T/D LB....perfect for a blind bow and very fast.

How big is the pop up?
Like Sal said, a Shrew will shoot out of most any blind. I shoot my Classic Hunter out of one of those little doghouse blinds.

I needed  a new blind this year and bought an amerstep harvester. No need for a shorter bow. It is 6'7" at the center. I shoot a 58"recurve and can shoot standing. I think it cost $169. just a thought however it is always nice to get a new bow.

Lee Hoot's makes both a short longbow and recurve that are perfect for a groundblind!

Shrew Classic Hunters are among the best for a light, handy, short blind bow, but a relatively short Morrison, Hoots, Big Jim Thunderchild, or various other similar bows would work very well too.

Get a Shrew.....or just get a "Big Mike" blind and shoot the bow you have.......

Personally Id just get both the Shrew and the new blind.

Just a quick chime as it's been partially mentioned already.  Barronett now makes 2 blinds w/80" height and one with 84".  Might be a more viable option, but new bows are hard to beat.
