I'm sure if your bosses know you Chad, they won't be at all suspicious when you call in sick on a weekend in late October  :)   You should be fine.  I'll get you a doctor's note.  I work for a physician who might could be bought for some backstrap  :)

Looks like this should be a good turn out! I am really looking forward to this trip, it will be my first deer hunt outside of Michigan

I have an Osage bow that I have been working on for about a year and a half now, have her just about floor tillered and it will be great to get some of the expert opinions (aka HELP!!) from the guys that will be there.

Yep, this will be great... get some help on the selfbow, hunt Indiana whitetails, and share the "Little Delta Bow" with you guys  :D

Take care and I look forward to meeting you all.

Kevin.

John, just found this thread, and it sounds like fun.I lived for quite some time about 4 miles from there and now live in Seymour near catfishon. All the way up the valley where the campground is there is a nice shelter house as well as another one about half way up the same area.Maybe one could be used for whatever. Both have fireplaces as I remember. The last one has one of those nice new fangled pit toilets the state is now using. You may want to run that past the folks down there so that it is left unlocked. (I think they do lock them in Winter)I know one year my wife's company had a halloween type hayride that same weekend and used the shelter house for that.
I have hunted that area quite a bit, mostly back in the horse trail area.(due East from where the campground is) Good deer and squirrel country. Part of the Forest is also across the highway from the main part about a mile away. No camping over there but lots of woods to hunt. You northern boys might ought to get your climbing legs in order. We got hills down here !
I don't know who is in charge down there right now. The former property manager died some time back in a plane crash/ suicide deal.I think the place is in a bit of flux right now but all in all they are good folks to work with.

I will be there that weekend.  I may night be able to stay the whole weekend but I will show up.   I hunt a piece of private ground a little south of there.      Sounds like a great time.

Tim,

I'm glad you chimed in.  I'm heading down there in August some time for a scouting/camping trip.  I'll check it all out and get a general game plan in order.  Someone bring a guitar and we'll sing campfire songs  :)

Glad to hear from everyone else that is coming.  Seeya.

John

No.  I'm thinking September 8-9 for a squirrel hunting, camping, scouting trip with my kids. As of Saturday, 2 of them are hunters now.

Yes.  They all have made or at least done a lot of the work on their own bows.

Hey John we are having our first annual Michigan Trad Gang bow hunt October 12th - 14th up in beautiful Atlanta Michigan.  If I still have money left I hope to try and make it for a day or so?

I may only be able to make a day trip down. Its only a couple hours from my house. Ive got a busy schedule during the last of oct and beg of nov. I would like to bring my kids down to see the bow building and the Little Delta Bow that they here me talk so much about. Hopefully we will get to some some lucky hunters with a nice buck or doe as well!
