Ed Scott horn bow
« on: October 11, 2011, 07:03:00 PM »
My good friend Ed Scott has been giving a class on sheep horn bow building to my Texas Hunting Buddy Carl Peterson.
The bow is 50 1/2'' nock to nock and is 52@ 26
Carl said that it is a screamer. I can't wait to shoot it.

That is incredible!  I absolutely love that bow!

Would you happen to know what kind of sheep horn that is?

This one is a ramboulette.  The stave that we built up is big horn.

He's a dandy Bill, I have learned a lot from him over the years. We are planning a week or two this spring early summer out at his place to build and finish bows together and test and compare ideas and methods.

The gemsbock horn bows are my favorite of Ed's bows.

Bill, I have built the gemsbock horn bows with Ed and they are pretty and shoot great but these sheep horn bows will leave them in the dust. They are very fast. My favorite of Ed's are his juniper and sinew hunting style bow.

Are the sheep horn bows as sweet after the shot as the gemsbock bows? Those sheep horn bows are gorgous.

They're pretty dead in the hand after shooting.

Okay, I'm an idiot at replying to these things. Wife had to straighten me out. It's rambouilett horn bow for the one pictured. It's real quiet in the hand after the shot.

Stave that was built in Ed's shop was big horn at the same length, but different design.
