Scott,

I have no doubt whatsoever that I'll love the new limbs.  I've been pleasantly surprised by how smooth and fast the 60", 53#@28" limbs are.

I was almost too pooped to finish work on Brian's new archery show booth banner this morning, but after reading this thread I'm inspired to press on. HA!.

I received a couple of emails from Brian the last couple of nights.  He's finished my new limbs, is nearing completion of refinishing my riser, and checkering it, too.  I encouraged him to take it to Kzoo with him to show as an example of his outstanding work.  He told me he is using a new finish since he built the bow and it really pops the grain out in the riser.  All I can say is if it is any prettier, I may have to spray paint it before I take it to the woods.

NOT!!!!  :)

Bill....if you're gonna spray paint it make sure you do it in front of Brian...he likes that!

You should have seen the look on his face when I jammed my uncased TT into the back of the truck bear hunting this past spring. The look he gave me took me back to when I was a kid and got the "fatherly disapproval" look!

As pretty as those bows are I can say that they are even tougher than they are pretty. I'd share what I've put mine through but afraid of the fatherly consequences.

Congrats on the bow...Ryan

After looking at the pics of the bows Brian built to take to K-zoo,  I'm starting to water at the mouth in anticipation of seeing my riser and new set of limbs with the Bocote veneers.  In a couple of weeks I should be shooting it!   :)    Yahoooooo!!!!

Kiss, Brian had one lefty that was a beauty.  If he didn't sell it at kzoo he should have it for the Midwest show.

Steve,

That was a gorgeous bow.  Somebody is going to be mighty happy with that bow.

Thanks for posting the thread with pics of the bow you picked up at Kzoo that Brian checkered for you.  Now I know I made the right decision in having him do it on the riser he refinished for me to go with the new set of limbs he built for me!!  :)

I had a phone conversation with Brian today.  He's going to start the checkering on my riser tonight, will finish it tomorrow, apply a couple coats of finish, apply the final coat on Friday or Saturday and he'll ship the bow to me on Monday.  He said I'll notice some differences in the riser.  It was the last hand built riser that he shipped.  He has removed some of the wood that he now removes on his CNC built bows and has increased the crown on the shelf.  I can't wait!     :)      :biglaugh:      :jumper:

Well, actually I can wait.  A craftsman takes his time to do it right!  And Brian is definitely a craftsman.

Charlie,

Thanks!  I can't wait until I receive it with the new limbs.  I'll take pics of the bow and post it then.  It will look a good bit different with the Bocote veneers on the limbs.  And the riser will definitely look different with the checkered grip and the new finish Brian is now using.

Dave,

Thanks!  I know I'm going to love it.  I loved it with the too heavy, 53#@28", and too short, 60", limbs.  I know I'm going to love it with the 62", 49#@28" limbs with the Bocote veneers.  And Brian has done some neat things to the riser when he refinished, not the least of which is checkering the grip for me!  It's $125 well spent!!!    :)      :D

Lord willing, my refurbished riser and new set of limbs for my TT will be shipping this week.  In a phone conversation last week, Brian told me I would notice some changes in the riser in addition to the new checkering.

My riser was the last hand built riser he sold.  He has made some changes by taking away some wood in some areas and increasing the crown on the shelf.  He also told me the Bocote veneered limbs turn out very nice.  I'll post before and after pics to show the differences.  Actually, the before pics are in my initial post.
