Archery opportunities in and around American Fork UT?
« on: July 10, 2007, 12:53:00 PM »
It looks as if I will be given the task of accompanying an exchange group of German students, comparable to high school students, to American Fork UT next year around Easter.

Believe it or not this will be the first time I spend time in the land that gave us Ishi, Pope, the Thompsons etc. etc. etc.
Most of the time I will be on duty, of course, but there may be one or two days off, when the young people are away with their guest families.

I can't bring a bow, not under these geopolitical conditions, but perhaps I can hire one, lend one, whatever.
Any archers from this area here? Does anybody know a shop, indoor or outdoor archery facility?

I don't want to leave the US without launching a few arrows in the honor of all that is good about it!

There is a cabelas near you there.  As well as a few other options close by.

If you are a lefty, I might be able to hook you up with a bow.  There are a few places that time year to get out and try to get some bunnies.

Thanks, but I'm right handed.
Cabelas is a good idea, if not for a bow, then at least to stock up on some items that are too expensive in Europe or not worth the expense in shipping. "Souvenirs!"

Bunnies, you say? Great.

I am about 1 1/2 hours south of American Fork. We have just put in an amazing range down here.

Thanks for oyu answer, that sounds great. What is the location? Is it an archery club?
I've translated Dean Torges and parts of the TBB, and now I'm really excited to see the country all these stories were born in!
