is there a 2blade out there that the point doesn't bend?
« on: October 13, 2011, 01:16:00 PM »
I have some 140gr Magnus 2blades and every time I hit something half way solid, the tip curls up and is useless. I am looking for a 125gr 2 blade that is tough as nails. Help please

Yes ABOWYER,,I don't think you can bend 3/16's thick tanto pointed steel... also go into centaur's website and see vids of his 2-blade heads being shot into some concrete blocks with no tip damage.

I'm sure theres more,, AND it depends on what your hitting with it too.

I've never bent a Zwickey Delta - the reason I'm shooting them this fall.

Steel Force 225 single bevels aint nenver bent either and I've killed a couple of deer with them (50 grains more than my current arrows like or I'd be shooting them again)

File the needle point off and they more than likely will not bend again. I've do this to all my heads .. never bent one sense.

x2 on file the tip. I do that with zwickey's and my magnus. I curled the tip on a moose a few years back and since then I've always filed the tip and no issues since.

Check out STOS broadheads. They are similar in design, decent priced, ferrules are very true, have a tanto tip and are strong.I believe they have a 130.I've had that happen on a Magnus and it caused some problems.Filing any needle tip to a tanto will help a lot.Almost any needle tip could curl if it hits something hard enough.

Check out the muzzy 220.  I shot one into a concrete wall and no bending.  I got one to bend but had to smash it with a hammer.

Check out the Ace Standard broadheads.  I have hit a lot of junk and ain't bent a tip on one yet.

Red Feather Archery has come out with a single bevel 2 blade that is tough as any I've seen. It is called the Razorhawk and is available in 100, 125 and 150 GR. They cost a lot less than some of the other single bevel heads out there. The guy that owns Red Feather is a member on here and a super nice guy that is willing to talk personally to any of his customers.

I find most anything in the 125 gr to be weak. Most all of the heavier BHs mentioned are satisfactory. The single bevels seem to be tougher. I highly recommend abowyers.

Another vote for a STOS broadhead since the tip doesn't curl and STOS come in 130, 145 and 160 grains.
