Last year at the pig gig to prove a point I shot my ACE standard at a rock at about 18-20 yards, bounced back about ten feet, touched it up with a file, spin tested it and it shot perfect. Triple layered tip, interlocking ferrule.

I think any of the standard heads with long points will bend if they hit something hard enough.  Once they start to bend it takes much less force to continue it (I think).

There are some simple answers, as brought out by those above.  Reshape the tip so it is beefier.  That's why the newer heads went to a tanto design, more metal, less chance of bending.

Buy a head with a warranty....all tips will curl if the circumstances are right.  Look at Eclipse heads for great performance and the best warranty in the business.

abowyer, simmons tree shark, stos all at 160 grain or heavier.I think in my experience the heavier the more metal the stronger the head.

I often practice with broadheads by shooting into dirt banks.  The down side is that sometimes there are rocks hidden in the dirt.  I have used Grizzly, Zwickey, Concorde, Ace 200 grain, Ace 160 Standard, Woodsman, Snuffer, Magnus I and Stos.  They all bend if you hit a rock at the right (wrong?) angle but the Ace 160 is by far the toughest and least likely to bend at the tip or break at the ferrule in my experience - for the cost they are tough to beat.
And in the end of our exploring we shall return to the place where we started and know that place for the first time.

Been using a 125gr Magnus Stinger for years now without a single failure with numerous kills. Love em! Most times can still shave hair with em after pulling them out of the dirt

Most of our current broadheads are plenty tough.  These pics are of the point I put on my heads; easily done with a good file.  These are Zwickey Deltas, but it works great on any head.  I've never seen one curl.  Get rid of the fine needle point, they can curl on any head.

I cannot imagine any 2 blade head being any stronger than the new Tuffhead with the ferule extending almost to the tanto point.

Take a look at the Tusker line.  Braveheart archery (sponsor here) sells them.  They are super tuff broadheads!

Eclipse single bevel in 125 - blew through an off-side leg bone of a whitetail for me opening day. Point was fine. It is triple layered at the tip. Mine didn't come with a needle point.
