Putting one arrow back in is impossible. When I pull the whole bunch out, the booties usually want to stay in the bottom of the quiver...not worth the hassle!

the better thing to do, at least for me, is having each bootie on a leather boot lace leash that's attached to the bottom of the quiver, and when the arrow is pulled out of the quiver the loose fit bootie slips off *outside* of the quiver's mouth and hangs overboard - then it's reasonably easy to reboot the arrow's head for a return back into the quiver.
either that, or *tight* fitting bootie, no leash, and remove by hand - but that can get you in trouble if yer in a hurry, and all that "flagging" motion isn't so good.
in the long run, perhaps the better back/side quiver is an upside down bow quiver such as an efa totem or asbell, with straps added. each head is well protected, but there's more effort in removing the arrow. always about trade-offs, eh?
