What it's all about!
« on: October 15, 2011, 08:02:00 PM »
Just got in from a short 3 hour hunt with my youngest. This was his first time sitting in a stand with me. Don't get me wrong we have shared many sits in ground blinds together but we finally came up with a harness to fit his small frame.

We had a blast watching the squirrels bury walnuts, woodpeckers drill for bugs and even saw a few deer. The deer didn't cooperate they were well within 20 yards of us but the problem was it was a good bit after legal shooting light before they closed in!

This little one has the bowhunting bug bad! He can't wait to get out there on his own but he's just not quite ready yet. Look out next year though! He just worked into a hunting weight recurve lately and his shooting has improved drastically this year. He will be 11 next fall and I got a feeling the local deer are gonna be in trouble!

There's nothing more tradional than spending time with a child in a treestand!

No doubt about it - he has that look in his eye.  Won't be long at all and he'll be posing with his hands wrapped around a set of antlers!
Sounds like it was a day to remember!
