Swedish Steel Recurve?

Hey folks I'd like to pick your brains for a bit. Does anyone know anything about a Swedish Steel Recurve? This bow is all aluminum? This bow belongs to my Brother in Law.He said there isn't any writing on the bow. He says it's 85#s [has to measure the length] and it is a two piece breaks at the handle any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

if there are no marks what leads you to think it is Swedish? did you get it in Sweden?
there were all metal bows here in the states as I recall...I wouldn't shoot them or even draw them if I owned them...but there were some around.

There were several made here in the states. They would get brittle over time and made good shrapnel.

Hey Ray. According to my brother in law the gentleman who sold him the bow told him that's what it was. He purchased it brand new in the 60's. The wife said she remembers he bought it in the mid 60's around the time when the Beatles were just getting popular LOL.

I bet its American, then, not Swedish. If you go to the archery history/collectors forum and post a pic of it I guarantee someone like Falk will identify it for you very quickly.
Good luck.

I've shot them and they have a bit of hand shock. But they were smooth drawing and pretty quick.Very narrow, short tips. I haven't seen a takedown version. I think they were called Ivanho's. I've seen articles of a British Military version of metal limb bows.
