Sarrels Wildcatt
« on: July 10, 2007, 08:45:00 PM »
Bob has recently updated his website, and is now advertising a 54 or 56 inch recurve called the Wildcatt. I've been wanting a short recurve, and since I adore Bob's bows already, this would fit the bill perfectly. He hasn't posted any pictures of it on the net though. Has anyone shot one of these bows, or does anybody have any pics of one they would be willing to share with me?

Do or do not ... there is no "try"

I shot the prototype two weeks ago. If you like short bows this is it.

I've never shot a short recurve, just like the idea of one. I own a BobcattII, and it's sweet... How does the Wildcatt compare? I shoot 3 under, so I'm really not worried about finger pinch. Is it as fast as the longer versions? Will shorter limbs add any handshock?

I have got to shoot one...always wanted to play with a short recurve.  It will have to wait till after I get a Superstition or Black Hills however.  I really like Bob's bows and he is a great guy to deal with.  Let me know if you get your hands on one to try before I do!

I have a 64"sierra and a 62" bobcatt. I would say
it had a little more handshock than either of my bows. As far as speed goes I would say it was a little faster. Not as smooth to draw as my bobcatt.
I shoot with Bob almost every week. I have probably shot thirty or fourty of his bows.
It seems I can grab almost any model and shoot them like they are my own bows. Bob says its because he shapes the grips the same. The short bow was no different.

That is good to know.  I have a 64" Teton and used to have a 62" Sierra that I never should have sold...I shot both well.  I really like his bows and he is very helpful even though I have yet to buy a bow directly from him.  However, I know what I want now so the next one will be directly from the man himself!

Also Bob is now a guide for a south texas ranch near Zapata. This will be his first year doing this. I would like to go for a hunt as I am sure
Bob would have Traditional guys in mind.
