Bow quivers, peg bow racks, and limb twist
« on: October 19, 2011, 09:23:00 AM »
Being as I have limited wall space in my house, I was thinking of hanging my recurve, with bow quiver attached, unstrung on a peg. The question I have is will doing this with the unbalanced weight of a quiver twist the bottom limb over time?

Thanks,
Mh

If the bow hung there for ten years without moving?  Maybe.

I'd remove the bow quiver if you expect it to be there for any amount of time.  I've seen bows with odd looking shadow lines in teh finish from where a quiver either left residue or blocked sunlight from parts of the bow.

If you are worried about twist and don't want to remove the quiver, just run two peg racks horizontally about two feet apart.  Rest your recurve across with a peg under each limb.

When I shot recurves that is how I hung them, never had any problems even with the quiver on that I remember.

At EFA we don't make such a quiver. Even with the heaviest quiver on the market I don't believe this would be a problem.

To answer your question, I dont know. On the other hand I had the very same concern and I decided to sell all of my bow quivers and bought an Arrowmaster Quiver.

I wouldn't worry about it unstrung.
