I just got in from a windy but very productive evening in the treestand.
I set up in a group of red oaks, about 20 yards from where I killed a big doe on our opening morning.
All was quiet until 5:00, I saw deer coming up out of the brushy bottom. There were 4 in all. I was set up with a big cedar tree about 4 yards in front of me. I know it would make great cover if the deer came the direction I expected them to...and they did
I let the lead big doe step broadside at 15 yards, then executed a near perfect shot. I was using a lighted nock for the first time. It left no doubt that the shot was perfect.
The big doe ran 50 yards, stopped, then fell over! What a great season it has been for me. I have sat 5 times in a tree so far and killed 3 mature does! Guess it's time to start looking for a buck
The only pics I have are on my brand new Iphone. I'm not tech savy enough yet to get them on the computer. I could text them to someone if you would be willing to post them for me.
Here's a pic. I just muddled through it! It's probably best that I'm not in the pic anyway
