1957 Bear Razorhead Takes Another
« on: October 21, 2011, 08:10:00 PM »
Sue and I went down to my old homestead 5:30 Am with a plan. Sit on stand the first two hours and then cut a truck load of dry locust fire wood. About 8:00 AM this big 8 point ran a doe right under my stand. She was so close I could see the fear in her eyes. When I dropped the string I saw the arrow hit right behind the shoulder and a bit high. There was about 10" of arrow sticking out as she took two large leaps. Now comes the strange part she never ran , just walked off about 15 yards and stood there with blood running off the arrow. She walked another 15 yards or so and her legs started to wobble and that was it ... Deer down! That 57 Bear Razorhead is the " Cats Nuts" The big 8 point walked in on Sue right up to her stand. Never had a shot, head on all the way in. Then caught a slight movement and off he went. She will be back after him next week for sure.

Good job Mike. It's amazing how little the gear has changed.
