Took the family for a morning walk
« on: October 24, 2011, 01:27:00 PM »
Been hunting hard without any luck so yesterday morning I got up early and headed to a new spot. As the sun peeked over the hill I heard some noise to my left. When I looked a family of raccoons paraded by. I thought to myself "It's gonna be another long morning in the stand". Around 8:30 a big group of coyotes let loose in the hollow below me. Not long after that I saw movement in the same direction that I had heard the coyotes. After a few minutes I realized I was seeing a DEER! (Haven't been seeing any)                                                                                                                                                              The longer I watched her the more it looked like she was headed straight for me. I got ready for the shot. She would pass by at about 15 yds. When her head went behind a maple tree I drew back and everything fell into place.
This is the view from my stand of the tree her head went behind.

Now back to the doe.As she cleared the maple I hit my anchor and picked a spot. The next thing I knew the arrow was away. After watching her go down I called upon my best trackers.  And this is what they found.            Tihs is were she ended up.     I just wanted to share my hunt and family outing. Here is a few more pics after i got her up the hill.     The bow I use was one I built my self 54#@28 and 4blade zwicky deltas.

Congratulations. Nothing like a family outing to make it even more sweet!

Beautiful family and a chance to share what you love. What more could a man ask for? Snazzy bow too!

Excellent! Well Done on the Doe, and your bow looks sweet too. You're a lucky man to have such superb trackers on call.

Nice doe!  Congratulations on a great hunt, and for taking the family along for the "tracking".   You have a really nice looking bow also!

Thanks guys. We really made some memories. The kind you can't buy in a store. Nothing better than sharing the excitement with the kids. Hope to make some more later in the season.

Awesome.

Congrats.  I love that you made it a family affair even though you knew where your deer was and that it was already dead.      :campfire:
