Shot this fine Michigan whitetail yesterday morning. Saw him and his buddy running through the field, while I was getting ready to answer the call of nature. Well I had read somewhere that deer sometimes think a doe is peeing when they hear it hitting the dry leaves. It worked this time. I had just enough time to zip up and grab my bow. The two of them hit the brakes and made a B-line for my tree. They both stopped 15 feet from me. Both were spike horns. I missed the first one, but they just jumped at the sound of my arrow hitting the leaves. Shot right in front of him. So, they stood there looking at each other. I grabbed another arrow and made a perfect double lung shot on this deer, complete pass through. He ran back out into the field about 50 yards or so and saw him go down. As he layed in the beans, all I could see was the steam from his breath for less than a minute and all was calm. Thank you Lord for a beautifull morning.
