I have great success with them and I do both. The down side is when you call deer in they are extremely wary because they are looking for another deer.

I used it to blind call a 200+ 8 PT. buck in Maine a couple of years back, he's hanging on the wall up at my friends house now, first and only buck gotten on his property so far, so I still have braggin rights.
Yes, they work or at least this one did !

I have used them both ways. No luck so far with blind calling. When I have seen deer and can called, it got there attention but they failed to come in to investigate.

I've never used them while hunting, but when I was a kid I would play with them endlessly while my Dad toured the gun shop. I remember thinking they were hilarious.

I have had great success with them! I have successfully called in bucks that I have a visual on, and ones that I called in "blind".
I usually use it in conjunction with a grunt tube to imitate a buck chasing a doe.

Killed a great buck last year using one pre rut in GA. I've killed numerous deer both blind and that I'd seen. IN fact I got to pick up a new one tomorrow. Mine bit the dust when I left it by accident in a blind.

Have used them - just like rattling and grunt calls - sometimes they work - sometimes they don't. This time of year I use them if I see deer that I want to bring in closer.

Called in one buck that I put an arrow in using a can. He was cutting across a cut corn field about 200 yards out one frosty morning and I tried the can several times, but I didn't think he could hear me because of the noise he was making dragging his feet through the downed stalks. Pulled out my grunt tube and blew so hard it sounded more like a goose! He stopped and I gave him one call with the can and he turned and moseyed my way ending with a 12 yard shot. Only time it worked, but I always have one on me after that encounter.

Use the sounds all the time - just with my voice though. You can mimic the can and vary the tone quite easily. Called in five different PYS last year for 2 different guys- they missed them all. Called in 3 different PYs for myself- shot one. It has a lot to do with timing and the deer movement/posture.

I have killed a bunch of bucks using the can, I dont go hunting without it. It doesnt work all the time but when it does get ready because it can happen fast. I use the big can from primos.

I've called them both blind and after seeing them.
Last Sunday I saw a deer moving through the woods and could tell it was a buck and used my can and called him in, just couldnt get a shot.
They do work but arent fool proof.

I have called in 4 or 5 different small bucks, one nice 7 that I let pass back in the compound days, the smaller bucks were called in blind the 7 I saw walking along the creek and he came right in.

I've learned through experimentation that over-use (read that calling a couple more times after they hear it the first time) will send them running. I've been told to not drag it out but, instead, use short calls. I guess long bleats send the message to get lost? Haven't tested that one thoroughly yet.

Which can specifically?
There are quite a few of them.
Very interested.
Thanks!

Estrous Bleat
This is how I called in my wall hanger last year. He made a 90 degree turn, from 70 yards to about 15. 2nd week of November.
Edit- Forgot to mention, I use a Primos Original.
