I hate that bud! I was really hopeing you would get a chance at him.  :(

Like Mike said I hope there's another bigger one cruising around that's got your name on him.   :archer2:

Hang in there, Atleast you have some fine picks of him.  :)

Know that feeling Curt...too bad. Hanging Xmas lights eh...nothing like putting the effort in every day hunting hard and coming home tired and hungry only to find out some guy "hunts" no farther than 5 steps from his back door.

Needed help to field dress...a real seasoned hunter.
Unfortunately, there are too many guys who "luck" into deer but that's part of the game I guess.

Sorry to hear he met his demise that way Curt! At least if another bowhunter got him you could be happy for the hunter. Well, you are just gonna have to find another one!

Good Luck,

Bisch

I bet if you talk to Glen, he will get your head back on track, he seems to process these type of incidents well even though you know they dont sit well with him, That's admirable.

Not much you can do now other than go look for sign that Lucky is still around.

Tough break Curt, Best wishes and good luck.

I cannot really think of anything to say except - there are many more out there.  And that's why we hunt.

Theres always Solana to ease your pain. I too lost 2 candidates this year, 1 to a poacher and one to a Audi, each within a mile of my bedroom. They arent the last bucks walking though.   :saywhat:

I can feel your pain. I had a great buck in the 160 + class ,got regular photos of him on the trailcam .He was shot  by  the neighbour a few lots over with a shotgun.Problem being the season wasn't open and it's does only for shotgun.  Let the neighbours know this year there's no freebees, hear a gunshot, call the co's.

That is a tough pill to swallow for sure.

Ive had bucks that I was closing in on to be killed by vehicles and by gun hunters...but I must say, a fella hangin Christmas lights that dont hunt takes the cake.

Your name must be on a different one this late season!!!

Sorry to hear that Guru. I saw a beautiful whitetail on some public ground last weekend that I couldn't close the deal on. The ground is archery only and gun season started Nov. 30th. Anyways I heard early this week a deer was found dead on that public ground with it's head cut off.           I hate poaching but hate it even more when they do it just for the rack.

Yeah that's tough to swallow.  Just isn't fair.....  My neighbor has a huge whitetail (for this area at least) hanging in his living room.  When I asked him the story he proudly told me he shot him off the porch one sunday morning with his rifle.
He said " yeah I was just sippin coffee and reading the paper when I see this brute coming across the pasture.  I shot him in my bath robe!  Can you believe it! " He just laughed and slapped his knee.  Good lesson in SOME PEOPLE JUST DON'T GET IT.
Good luck and lets hope LUCKY is more lucky.   :)
