New longbow
« on: October 25, 2011, 08:37:00 AM »
I built a new bow to take out west to go on my annual Muley hunt in Nebraska on the family place.  56 inch R/D longbow.  49 pounds @ 28 inches.  Just a plain ole piece of Cocobolo with boo cores and Myrtle veneers.  tips and overlays match riser and limb veneers.  Thanks for looking.

Nice work and best of luck.

Surely you jest Sir! There is nothing 'Plain' about that Cocobolo, it's beautiful, as is the Myrtle. I like the style of that riser too. Well Done!

Good Luck on the hunt!

Very nice bow and good luck with it in Nebraska.

I second that it looks very similar to a Morrison one piece Dakota!

Nice looking bow.  As for plain, purty is as purty does, right?

Thanks for all the kind words.  I haven't looked at Morrisons bows.  I better go and take a look.

I normally make a 58 on that form but it came in a little light so I piked it and got most of the weight back.
