Mike Mitten in TBM
« on: October 25, 2011, 08:53:00 AM »
I just read Mike's article in the latest TBM recieved yesterday. He writes as well as he hunts. It takes a big man to write from the heart the way he does, he's big in more than stature.

Thank you Sir. That was worth the yearly subscription cost, and then some.

Kenny,

I have not made it to that article yet. I try to read one every night before bed to "savor the flavor" so to speak.  Then I read it all over again.

I'm looking forward to his article now.

You said it Ken. Mike writes as good or better than he hunts & that's real good. OWTW is one of my favorite books.

Great story from Mike and a very touching and personal insight into his life during a very tough time for him.  I admire him for the way he has handled the grief he experienced and kept it from defeating him.  Thanks, Mike!

It has a picture of a St. Charles Mickey Finn broadhead being sharpened on the cover.

Knowing Mike and Paula personally, seeing how they treated each other with mutual respect and affection, this article really hit home with me. Having an understanding, supportive spouse at one's side makes life's journey a whole lot more worthwhile and sweet. Coming home to a good woman and a loving family is often the best part of any hunt. Good job, Brother! I'm proud of you once again.

That is an excellent article and I commend Mike for being so open about his personal life.  After reading the article I had to put the issue down just to reflect for a little while on how lucky I am for my family.

Oh yes.  Very touching article.  I read it last night.

I don't usually text from the tree stand, but tonight I text my wife and told her how fortunate I am.  After reading the article last night, well it was on my mind.  Chad

I am certainly humbled by your response to this article. As you can probably tell it was very emotional for me. What may not have come out to clearly in the article, is that the mental side of bowhunting shot and archery in general is so dependent on concentration and focusing in that moment. We may not always succeed, but we can certainly revel in the challenge. Thank you all, Mike

Just finished reading the article last night. Great job, Mike. Sounds like you had a great partner and friend and I know that she will always be with you. God Bless.

I just received my issue of TBM and that was the first article I read.  Very touching story.  Too often we (I) don't appreciate what we have.  Thanks for sharing, Mike.
