Bowhunting excuse
« on: October 30, 2011, 04:23:00 PM »
Watching a hunting show today and i just heard the worst excuse ever.  Of course, this show was using todays technology.  The guy missed a buck because he said it came in so fast and didnt bave time to range the shot.  Used the wrong pin and shot high.  I guess im old school but if hou have to rely on a rangefinder then its too far.  Alot of my deer come in and its all over in seconds.  I cant imagine having to fumble a rangefinder around.....

I shot "those other things" with sights for a while, back in the day. One of the first things I did was shoot 15 yards using a 25 yard (the next one down for me) pin, just to see how much higher it shot.  It was not  "that much" higher to make you miss clear over the deer.  Just another reason to shoot instinctive. .  let em get close and just shoot them.  I never miss    when I am holding a longbow.

I read about one guy that blamed a well known broadhead for his deer losses. That's not a good excuse for not finding his deer.
