Broadhead suggestion

I have made a switch to a back quiver and now can't use my STOS due to the flat back end catching.  The shape of the swickey eskimo is perfect but of 12 that I have bought only about 4 sharpen down the length of the blade (another issue never resolved.) I have some razor heads and they are perfect but supply is limitted.  So what glue on head is shaped like this and sharpens easily.  I file sharpen and can get a shaving edge on my STOS and Bear.

You should be able to get old razorheads on e-bay or something.

I can get them from flea bay but quality and availablity is poor.  I go through heads regular small game hunting and loosing arrows under leaves or stuck in trees   .  Fletcher I have been looking at the Ace head but had no info on them as far as qualtiy and such.  So thanks for the info.

I like Zwickey and Im not sure why your having trouble getting them sharp but you may want to look at Magnus I think they are softer also eclipse.

Stone the last part of the trailing edge is so hard that my file won't cut it.  I can get all of the blade razor sharp but not the end.  I have used stones to remove stock and it fixed two of them but the others just polished off and won't cut any more.  I believe it was a over heating issue either during tempering or brazing.

I would look at the eclipse heads. Also don't discount zwickeys I would recommend getting another pack to try them.

If I were shooting a 2-blade, the Ace Standard would be it.  Give'em a try.  I think you will be pleased.

I've used zwickeys (I think your problem is a little overheating of the head when putting the points on your shafts and ruining the temper...I have done this)   but the Concordes work well also.  They are shaped like a zwickey no mercy but have a more sloped rear angle.  The magnus have a good slope too, as well as the eclipse 125 gr.    I don't like the angle of the ace heads although they are well built.

Or here is an idea. far less work and expense.  You could put cardboard tube (paper towel roll to try it out) in the bottom of your quiver and give each shaft it's own little cubby hole.  I would think 4-6 inches would be enough for each shaft.

It that works you could replace the paper towel roll with a heavier shipping tube of a similar diameter.  It would also serve to keep your heads from banging against each other.

Chris...just take a tad off the corner and see what happens...you might not need to go as far as I did.  I wasn't worried about loosing width since they were converted to small game heads....still plenty of width for small critters.  Less might have worked just as good...the main thing is to just nock that corner off.  

Try one and see how it goes.
