Same here, not superstitious, but I'm using a sick day to head to the stand.

Pretty moon to light my way to the woods...

Didn't see a thing untill I was packing my hunting clothes into totes. Awesome buck walks towards the woods I hunt, stops where I had just walked out and turns around after a 15-20 second wait. I've been beaten by a bruiser.  :knothead:

Didn't shoot a thing, but I had the best morning in a long time. I wasn't in the ground hide 5 minutes when a doe and young buck came within 4 yards of me; he was rutty as all getout. I saw at least 50 deer, and a bunch of turkeys. Had the turkeys within 5 yards but didn't shoot because I was watching a nice 4x4 bedded, and I was afraid I would spook him. I also had several does inside of 10 yards while I watched the big buck. I finally put a stalk on the bedded deer, figuring to get busted, but got within 30 yards before I was. I probably would have had a shot at him in his bed, but his body was hidden by tall grass. What a hoot!

At this moment I am sitting in a cabin, getting ready to walk out with my bow and give it a go.  Saw a nice buck a week ago, and am now coming back to beat him at his game.  But for the past 2 hours, someone's been firing shots (sighting in?) about 1/4 mile from where I intend to hunt.  Bleah.

Decided to hunt this evening, it's 5pm and I'm already home! But...not for a good reason.    "[dntthnk]"

Was going to hunt hogs by moonlight this evening. Got to the only entrance to the 300 acres I have permission to hunt and someone had used a front end loader to pile palm trees and concrete culvert pipe across the entry road.
So much for 11/11/11!

Got on the phone with the land owner and he told me he was unaware of this but had a real good idea who did it. Seems a non-profit charity group thinks they own the property and are trying to keep people out. I was told to go back tomorrow and move the blockade enough to gain access. If anyone gives me a problem call him and he will have them arrested.

The bad thing is I had these hogs timed when they were coming in to area I was hunting tonight. They are only coming through every other evening and don't know if there will be enough moon tomorrow evening to see them if they show.

Seven and  half hours in the blind today...not a thing seen. They must be leaving all that sign around the blind at night with the moon we've been having...

I worked today but saw deer moving all day as I was traveling. Made it home in time to climb in my stand about an hour before dark. I didn't see a thing other than squirrels. Still was good to be out.

Went out this morning and sat all day and didn't see a thing. The landowner across the fence broke out his chain saw and started cutting wood just over the hill from where I was sitting at about 1PM. He quit about 2:30 so I finished the day there but not even a squirrel came by. So much for the superstitious stuff.

Just got home.  Saw one deer, a real good buck.  About 80 yards was as close as he got.    But now I've watched the deer's movements at dusk, and I think I know where to set up.  Boy, I'm tired of tag soup for the past few years...

Shot over the back of one. I picked a spot then forgot to focus on it. I did hit the tree in both lungs though!
