thursday morning was a was a great morning. 32 degs when i got up and checked the weather. the wind was blowing wrong for my tree stnd in this spot where i wanted to hunt so i hunted off the ground just up from my stand. I saw 22 deer between 8:45 and 10:30. I shot this doe at 12 yards.

i was sititng up against this log.

here is the view strait in front of me where i shot the doe. she was 10 yards past the water puddle

Thanks for the good photos. It gives a great idea of what a good ground blind should "feel" like. Seeing a successful set up like that gives us developing ground pounders a good bit of insight.

That's a great set up for ground hunting and it sounds like you were in the perfect spot. I'm going to set up on the ground tonight just to catch deer movement in an area I haven't been. I won't have time after work to get up a treestand, so I'm going to take my seat and go sit.
