A Fathers best day. Happy birthday son!!! PICS all done!
« on: July 14, 2007, 03:14:00 AM »
My son is in town visiting me from Oklahoma for the summer. I was lucky enough to have him during his birthday and this is what we came up with for his present. Specs: 64" 45# 28". The limbs are bacote and purpleheart, the riser is kingswood and purpleheart with maple accents. The handle overlays are maple and bacote while the tip overlay is made of red phenolic, maple and purpleheart. We have done this project from the start together. Not only is he learning to build his own bow but I have been having the time of my life spending this time with him. I now know why I was put on this earth. I hope you enjoy the pictures as we build the bow.

The smile says it all. I'm glad you had a chance to spend time with him on his birthday, the bow is nice but the time will always be remembered.

OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!! Great Job To Both Of You!!!!!

That is a VERY fine looking bow!!!!! I'm SURE that the memories made while building it,combined with the memories made while shooting it,will creat a strong and inseperatable bond between the two of you for ever after.

This'll be a birthday you'll both cherish forever. What a great way to spend real quality time together. And look at you, Bill! Wasn't that long ago when you were learning solid block risers and simple overlays. Now it's flared risers with contrasting woods, fancy overlays AND spliced limbs! You're making great strides in your bowbuilding. Congratulations! Mike
