Trad Hunting DVD's
« on: November 15, 2011, 04:43:00 PM »
I have lots of hunting dvds, but would like to get some Trad hunting dvds.  I'm not interested in educational stuff or how to's, just trad hunters putting down game with there stick bows.  Let me know which ones you guys like and why.
Do or do not.  There is no try.

I recommend Fred Bear's entire collection.  For me it's nostalgic and well done.  Fred's movies convey (IMO) more than just killing.  Mr. Bear loved the outdoors and you get to see him and his companions camping, fishing, exploring, adventure seeking, and hunting.  You can get the set from a couple of the popular "Trad" archery supply houses.
Have a nice day!

I also like Howard Hill's Hunting and Fishing with the Bow.  Great action, nostalgia, and fun.  Also, The Bowhunters of TradGang.Com has several fun hunts on it, along with some great "how-to's" to improve your own "Trad" skills.  The Wensels have some fun DVDs too!
Have a nice day!

Lettin' Loose.

For a straightforward, all trad bow hunting vid, it's the best I've seen.

I've got one of Mr. Langer's DVDs and it is fun and down to earth.  I like it a lot.  He seems like a nice guy.
Have a nice day!

Bowhunting October Whitetails - Rick Blase & (our own & beloved) Barry Wensel.  Some "action shooting" for certain - don't try these at home, kids.

The Oldest Game - Fred Bear.  I like this one because the woods look just like home - filmed in northern PA.  Nice homey whitetail hunting.

The only other bowhunting video I own is Tembo.  Staged and disappointing.  Word has it a chained elephant was killed for the "climax" hunt.

The Fred Bear collection is awesome and a piece of history.

Last year Steve Gorr of Cascade Archery, a TG sponsor, came out with a great trad video (Bowhunting Reflections).
